Well Hello

Well hello everyone! Its been a while since i’ve posted on here, as you may have noticed! However, now I will be posting much more often because I have finished my GCSE’s so I’m now on a very long, well deserved summer holiday!

A a little while ago it was my prom, and of course I went all out with my makeup! So today I thought I’d show you all how I created my look!

First of all, I primed my eyes with my Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyelid primer. It’s so important to prime your eyes separately so that your eyeshadow stays on for a long time. I then put 2 strips of sellotape by my eye to get a clean cut line

Then I went in with my MAC paint pot in soft ochre again to prime my eyes and so the eyeshadow has a good colour base to stick to. The main palette I used was the Naked Smoky so I took Slanted as a base colour which is a lovely silver grey colour. Then I took Armour on the outer half of my lid and blended. I then took a small amount of Dagger into my crease to define the shape of my eyelid and blended that out so there was no harsh lines. For the last eyeshadow, I took the black shade from the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 2 and blended that out so it created a really smoky look.

To create the wing liner, I took a square angled brush and used the Maybelline eyestudio gel eyeliner in black and dragged it along the tape so it was a sharp wing. I then took my L’Oreal Super Liner in perfect slim and drew a thin(ish) line across my lid and joined up the wing to the rest of the line. Once I was happy with it I removed the tape so the line was sharp.

Then I moved onto my base makeup. I primed my skin with my Benefit Porefessional primer and spritzed a couple of sprays of my MAC fix+ to illuminate my skin and give it some moisture.
For foundation, I used my favourite MAC Studio Fix Fluid as this gives you a high coverage and a matte finish which is exactly what I like. To conceal, I went for my Maybelline FIT me concealer, and to highlight under my eyes I used the Seventeen Stay Time concealer. Both these concealers are great and super affordable as they’re drugstore!

To contour, I used the Maybelline V cream contour and highlight stick. I took the contour shade under my cheekbones, under my jawline, round my hairline and temples to give me a really defined face and make me look all chiseled!  I then powdered with my NYX transparent setting powder. To bronze my face, I took the Benefit Hoola bronzer. This gave me a lovely bronzed glow and made me looked slightly tanned!

For blusher, I took a small amount of the Milani baked blush in ‘Luminoso’ and dusted it across the apples of my cheeks. I didn’t want a lot of blusher because my dress was a pinky nude colour and the focus was on the eyes. Then to highlight I chose my NARS multiple in Cocacobana as this is an iridescent silver shade and it matched my eye look.

For my brows, I used the NYX tame and frame eyebrow pomade with the angled brush from the benefit browzings kit. I also used a spooley to shape them as I did them. To set them in place for the night I used the Benefit Gimmie Brow.

For my lips, I decided to go for a lipgloss as it was more subtle than a lipstick, and i wanted the focus to be on the eyes, not the lips, so I used the Max Factor lipgloss in the shade Pristine Nude. It fitted in perfectly with the look and pretty much matched the colour of my dress perfectly!

So that is the finished look! I took me quite some time to do! Incase you’re wondering, for my hair, I did 2 small dutch braids each side of my middle parting with 2 sections of hair, then curled the rest, and the remaining of the braids once I had tied them off.

I hope that this has given you some inspiration for your prom makeup or general makeup. Have you had your prom yet? What was your makeup like and was it any similar to mine?

Lots of love

Tasha
